Dementia News chats to Laureate Professor Colin Masters about the process behind finding a treatment and potential cure for Alzheimer’s disease and some of the reasons why this process can take such a long time.

Professor Masters is based at the University of Melbourne and also Senior Deputy Director of the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

He was part of a research group in the 1980s that discovered the Amyloid plaques which were the cause of damage to the brain found in Alzheimer’s disease.
