Dementia Australia takes to the streets for Collection Day

An army of Dementia Australia volunteers took to the streets in New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria during Dementia Awareness Month, to collect donations for National Collection Day, one of our flagship fundraising events.

Thanks to such incredible support from our volunteers and the generosity of the public, we raised an incredible $15,000 to help support people living with dementia, their families and carers.

This year’s Collection Day represented an expansion from previous years, where activity had been focused only on NSW, and we are delighted with the result.

Dementia Australia’s Executive Director, Business Development, Leanne Emerson said the donations collected are used to support a wide range of services for people living with dementia, their families and carers with all forms of dementia.

“These services provide a crucial part of the work that Dementia Australia undertakes on behalf of more than 425,000 people living with dementia, their families, carers and friends,” Ms. Emerson said.
