DIY Memory Walk & Jog at Toowoomba a great success

At the end of March, Dementia Australia staff and volunteers were assisted by Ozcare Dementia Advisory Service and Home Instead Senior Care staff to host the Toowoomba DIY Memory Walk and Jog – Support the Journey fundraising event.

Despite raining for several days prior to the event, the sun shone on the Glennie School oval on the day itself, and more than $5,000 was raised.

The Toowoomba DIY Memory Walk and Jog was kindly supported by local sponsors including Pet Stock, Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre, Fit Lab, the Dingle Family, The Works, Drayton Woolworths, and Toowoomba Brake and Bearing Service.

Well done and thank you to all who were involved!

A DIY Memory Walk & Jog is the perfect way to get together with friends, keep fit and have a great time, while raising valuable funds and awareness for Dementia Australia.

And the great thing about DIY Memory Walk & Jog is that you really can do whatever you like! You can tailor your event to suit your group by choosing your event date, location, distance and any additional fundraising activities, making it as grand or as subtle as you like! We think it’s great that participants can shape their own experience, but don’t worry, we have a fundraising team here who will be more than happy to help, every step of the way.
