The latest Dementia News has details of two new studies, one which suggests that omega-3 supplementation increases brain size and another suggesting that the pesticide DDT (banned in Australia) might be associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

There is also information about the updated Cochrane review, which has found more evidence to suggest exercise can significantly improve the cognitive function of people with dementia and their ability to perform daily activities.

Dementia News chats with Associate Professor Michael Woodward, Head of Aged Care at Austin Health in Melbourne about the latest findings and clinical drug trials to see how close researchers are to finding treatments or even a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
