Storm in a Teacup at Cinefest Oz

Storm in a Teacup is an intimate portrait of Western Australian artist Leon Pericles as he embarks on a retrospective exhibition of a lifetime of his artworks. His wife Moira has played a huge role in his success, acting as his creative counsel and manager. However, Moira is now living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Told through the eyes of his daughter Nia the film explores the role reversal between Leon and Moira, as he prepares for the exhibition of a lifetime, juggling his roles of artist, husband and now carer.

The filmmakers consulted with Dementia Australia during production and we are excited about its release. The film will premiere at the Cinefest Oz film festival in Western Australia on 28 August, and then will screen on the ABC during Dementia Action Week.
