US researchers identify where in the brain Alzheimer’s disease begins, why it starts there and how it spreads.

Researchers from the Columbia University’s Medical Center have used high-resolution MRI scans to pinpoint where in the brain Alzheimer’s disease begins, why it begins there and how it spreads.

In pinpointing where the disease starts and tracking its progression researchers hope to detect Alzheimer’s disease at its earliest preclinical stage, when the disease might be more treatable.
